projects the norwegian coastal administration

Vogt & Wiig is assisting the Norwegian Government’s Coastal Directorate in two shipwreck cases – "Full City’ and ‘Petrozavodsk"

The Russian reefer "Petrozavodsk" stranded off Bjornoya (West of the Northern part of Norway) 11 May 2009 with a severe risk for extensive oil pollution as a result. Complex issues relating to wreck removal and pollution limitation arose.

The bulker "Full City" ran aground outside Langesund (South of Norway) 31 July 2009. The grounding resulted in massive oil pollution.

Both incidents involve a range of complicated legal issues, i.e. in relation to pollution control, arrests of vessels and other assets, limitation of liability, direct action etc. Vogt & Wiig advices The Norwegian Costal Administration in these two cases.
